ULTRA 100km
Departure at 22:00 on friday 30 June from DoppiaW Village in Villa di Tirano.
A few hundred meters through the alleys of the village and immediately you go up. An ancient mule track leads the competitors immediately in the heart of the path. The first refreshment point at the lights of the headlamps is in Lughina, after 5 km of the race. You go up again towards the first pass of the day, Col d'Anzana at 2220m above sea level that takes the competitors in Switzerland, from here you continue towards the second refreshment point, Capanna d'Anzana.
Two beautiful alpine lakes, Lag de la Regina and Lag dal Mat, are the backdrop to this part of the track that descends slightly to then rise to the Passo Tre Croci 2348m asl. From here a beautiful descent leads the participants to Poschiavo Lake passing by the restaurant of Torn.
From Miralago begins a new climb to San Romerio, located at km 35, refreshment and 12 hours gate. The climb continues towards the Malghera Pass 2540m asl, passing by the refreshment of Albertusch. After the pass that brings the competitors back to Italy and a stretch of descent, we arrive at the base of the Malghera Refuge (48km and 15 hours time gate).
We are in the magnificent Valgrosina and the runners are ready to face the highest passage of the entire race, Passo Vermolera at 2732m above sea level.
From here, a landscape at first lunar will give way to the beauty of Lake Venus and Lakes Tres, until you reach the refreshment of Vermolera. A short climb will lead the athletes to Biancadino and, crossing the valley, on the opposite side there will be the Rifugio Casina di Piana.
It's time to enter the wild Val Piana, which with a very runnable path will lead the competitors to the base of the steep single track of Passo di Schiazzera 2546m asl. From here we descend towards the Rifugio di Schiazzera, time gate of the 24 hour race where there will be 18km to go.
A slight climb will be the prelude to a nice downhill path, first at high altitude and then in the woods. At the refreshment point of Prà Zarè there will be the last climb of the day, the last effort before the descent that from Pradentia will lead the participants towards the refreshment point of Tirano. Last 5 km, last efforts and then the finish line of Villa di Tirano.
